Deepening of collaboration between Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and German higher educational institutions, organizations and foundations, as well as future perspectives of cooperation were discussed by Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze and German Ambassador to Georgia, Hubert Knirsch during the meeting held at TSU on December 19.
Tbilisi State University and German universities have been collaborating at an institutional level for almost sixty years. Presently, cooperation agreements have been signed with about 25 universities and these agreements are mainly implemented with the financial support of the EU-funded Erasmus+ programme and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). For years, separate scientists and scientific projects have been benefiting from the financial support provided by other German foundations.
