Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) marked the beginning of a new academic year with a traditional Welcome Party for the students. Stephane, a Georgian singer, and other famous Georgian bands and DJs held a concert for about 5000 students.  “For any artist, this category of people, students, is the most important segment. I can only welcome such events. As for these very beautiful young people, we pin our hopes on them. They should study hard in order to help our country move forward,” Stephane said before the concert. BACHO, B2B, KVACHI and A2K also performed at the concert.

Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze congratulated students on the beginning of the new academic year. “We had the highest enrollment this year. We have 4600 first-year students. This is the 100th cohort of students and I wish them huge success. This is my main desire,” he said.

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Irine Abuladze also congratulated students on the beginning of the new academic year. “I would like to wish students success and tell them that a very interesting experience is awaiting them in the walls of this historical university. By acquiring knowledge they will definitely create better future for our country,” the Deputy Minister noted.
