The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), the Foundation for Promoting Learning and Georgian Beer Company signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The memorandum was signed by TSU Rector, Academician Vladimer Papava; Director of the Foundation, Manana Kharkheli and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Georgian Beer Company, Tsezar Chocheli.

TSU Rector, Vladimer Papava said: “The Foundation for Promoting Learning was established at the Faculty of Economics and Business upon initiative of several professors from TSU. We have a lot of talented students at the university, but some of them can hardly maintain their status, because they are insolvent. I want to express my gratitude to Georgian Beer Company for supporting this initiative and the university. Charity is one of the mechanisms to support these students. I hope that the following steps taken by businesses will be more important.”

“I am glad the Foundation for Promoting Learning has been established at the Faculty of Economics and Business. I think we are doing a good job. Georgian Beer Company is an organization, whose managers know the value of learning. Our key goal is to assist talented, low income students. I hope that incomes of the foundation will further increase,” Director of the Foundation, Manana Kharkheli said.

“I want to thank the university for the huge contribution it made to the establishment of my personality. My best years are associated with the university; therefore, we could not but participate in this project. There are a lot of low income students. In future we will be able to assist more students. In addition, we offer internships to successful students. Like students need assistance, similarly business needs support of qualified staff,” Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Georgian Beer Company, Tsezar Chocheli said.

The memorandum aims at planning and implementing joint measures to ensure comprehensive education of new generations and encourage their creative potential.
For the purposes of this memorandum, the company will transfer funds to the foundation on a monthly basis in order to finance the studies of socially vulnerable students from the Faculty of Economics and Business.

The company is ready to work closely with the university over the issues of student training and internships as well as to offer practical work to students with their further employment in the company.
