Foreign Students at TSU

Within the framework of Erasmus+ exchange program, 25 foreign students will study at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) during this semester. Students from various European universities will spend one semester at TSU.

Tea Gergedava, head of the TSU Department of Foreign Relations, said that students have arrived from European countries, as well as other counties of the world: “This year we have a novelty at TSU. Along with students from European universities, we will also host foreign students from Kazakhstan, who will spend one semester at TSU. Moreover, the Institute of European Studies has students from Armenia and Azerbaijan.”
Sara Núñez Torrado of University of A Coruña will study at the TSU Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. “I learned about the collaboration between our university and TSU this year and decided to continue my studies at TSU, because after searching for information about professors, I found out that Georgian professors were closer to my PhD topic. Moreover, I have heard a lot about Georgia and I wanted to see everything with my own eyes,” she noted.

TSU hosts about 80 foreign students within exchange programs per year. Among them are the students, arriving through Erasmus+ program, as well as various governmental scholarship programs, bilateral exchange programs and joint MA programs involving several universities.
