Millennium Innovation Contest was held at Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel on February 12, where students from various public schools of Georgia presented their projects in the fields of innovations and natural sciences. 10 teams reached the final and the selection committee selected the best three teams.
The San Diego State University (SDSU) congratulates all the ten teams on their victory and awards 50% tuition waivers to all the 12th grade students participating in the contest.
“Last year, many innovative and creative children selected the programs offered by the San Diego State University in Georgia. We want to encourage the winners of the 2016 contest to join a dynamic team of our students,” Dean of San Diego State University, Kenneth Walsh said.
Millennium Innovation Contest for public school students is held in Georgia to popularize innovations and STEM education. The contest is organized by Millennium Challenge Account Georgia, financed by the U.S. Embassy to Georgia and supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
In frames of the second USD 140 million compact signed between the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation and Georgia, the San Diego State University is implementing bachelor’s degree programs with international accreditation (ABET, ACS, WASC) in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Graduates in Georgia will receive American diplomas. These educational programs will promote the development of natural science and technology fields in Georgia as well as training of highly skilled staff in the country.
