On Tuesday, June 9th, at 18:00, at the Portuguese Language Center at TSU [building II, room 203] Rachel Di Giuseppe presented a conference on perspectives about Brazilian women in the 21st century and being a woman in Favela:
“Two different backgrounds should talk more about Brazil than every research ever studied. Giselle Bündchen is one of the most famous top models around the world and Valesca Popozuda is a funk singer who came from one of the poorest neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro. Using theses examples, a new perspective about women in Brazil will be more than just numbers and statistics, it will show the everyday life, from wealthy cities to the Favelas, with a very feminine touch”
Rachel Di Giuseppe is a translator from Universidade de São Paulo and has her master’s degree on Russian and Caucasus culture. She works with social media in Brazil and uses her free time to learn about woman in Brazilian pop culture.

This event is part of a series of Conferences/Workshops in English titled “Portuguese and Brazilian Culture for Beginners”, taking place throughout the present academic year at the Portuguese Language Center at TSU and is open to anyone who wishes to know a bit more about Portugal and Brazil’s traditions, music, literature, society, cultural heritage, etc..
