An annual science forum dedicated to Ivane Javakhishvili’s memory was ended at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University on April 24. The best research papers selected by the faculty commissions were read out at the two-day science forum by the authors – TSU professors, emeriti, research fellows and students.

On April 24 BA, MA and PhD students from the Tbilisi State University (TSU) presented their research papers selected by the faculty commissions. PhD students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Vakhtang Charaia, Irakli Dogonadze and Otar Anguridze presented a paper “Analysis of the Factors Influencing National Currency Exchange Rate”; BA student from the same faculty, Tamar Barbakadze – “Foreign Direct Investments and Economic Sustainability of Enterprises”; the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences selected for the forum a paper by PhD student, Giorgi Burjanadze “Changes in the Activity of Hippocampus Creatine Kinase under Circadian Rhythm Disorders” as well as a paper of BA student, Lasha Baramidze “Convergence in Measure of Logarithmic Means of Double Fourier Series”; the Faculty of Law was represented by several students: PhD student Giorgi Amiranashvili presented a paper “Demanding Compensation of Harm from the Third Person (analysis of article 832 of the Civil Code of Georgia)”; MA student Simon Takashvili – “Presumption of Veracity and Completeness of Public Registry Data – Democratic Legislation or a Legal Gap” and BA student Tornike Nemstsveridze – “Equal-Size Election Districts as the Basis for Equality in Voting – Existing Reality and Perspectives in Georgia”; the Faculty of Medicine presented a paper by PhD student Marine Karchava “IL28B favorable genotype and ultrarapid viral response as the earliest treatment predictors of a sustained viral response in a Georgian cohort infected with the hepatitis C genotype”; a paper by MA student Natia Adamia: “The Problem of Resistant Tuberculosis and the Ways of its Settlement”; a paper by BA students, Maia Gavtadze and Giorgi Kistauri “Stable Magnetic Nanoparticles Suspension – Unimag”; BA student from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Ekaterine Lazarashvili read out a paper “The Problems Caused by Technogenic Effects on Georgia’s Black Sea Coast”; the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences presented a paper by BA students Nino Asatashvili and Tekla Nemanishvili on stigmatization of feminists in Georgia; PhD Sopio Modebadze from the Faculty of Humanities read out a paper “Crisis of Musical Art in Post-Modern Epoch”; MA student Giorgi Kitoshvili and BA student Ketevan Chilaia from the same faculty also presented their papers.

The authors of papers presented at the forum received certificates and pecuniary awards: BA students – GEL 500; MA students – GEL 1000 and PhD students – GEL 1500.

The annual science forum dedicated to the memory of Ivane Javakhishvili was first held at TSU in 2014, upon initiative of Rector Vladimer Papava. The famous Georgian scientist and public figure, the founder of the first Georgian university, Ivane Javakhishvili was born on April 23, 1876. In 2015 the Georgian society marks his 139^th birth anniversary.

According to the decree issued by President Giorgi Margvelashvili in the course of the forum, GEL 27 000 will be allocated to TSU from the President’s reserve fund in 2016 to implement the project “Photos from Ivane Javakhishvili’s Family Album” dedicated to Ivane Javakhishvili’s anniversary.
