Memorandum of Cooperation

The International Education Center and six higher educational institutions signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on July 18. Under the Memorandum, the International Education Center, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Caucasus University, Grigol Robakidze University, Ilia State University and Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) will collaborate in training academic and administrative staff and internationalization of higher education in Georgia.

The Memorandum was signed by Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Giorgi Sharvashidze; Deputy Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Tamar Siradze; Rector of Caucasus University, Kakha Shengelia, Rector of Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, Maka Ioseliani; Rector of Grigol Robakidze University, Mamuka Tavkhelidze, Rector of Ilia State University, Giga Zedania, and Head of the International Education Center, Nino Chelidze.

Head of the International Education Center, Nino Chelidze said that the Memorandum was signed within the framework of the University Support Program as part of Study in Georgia format. “In frames of this collaboration, we will be able to offer our graduates, young academic and administrative staff to the universities. We have planned a lot of events that will not only provide new staff for the university program, but will enable to retrain existing administrative and academic staff. We have three foreign partners for this program (Israel, Hungary and France), who will ensure pedagogical and administrative training. We hope that next year we will have more partners for this program and we will promote further development of the university space,” Nino Chelidze said.

Under the Memorandum, the parties commit themselves to promote the development and implementation of programs and projects planned within the framework of the University Support Program; to collaborate in the development of assessment systems/methods necessary for the competition of programs/projects planned within the framework of the University Support Program; as well as to promote the integration of graduates into the university activities.
