TSU Joins New Media Education Project

On May 10, Vice Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Nino Okribelashvili met with representatives of the U.S. Embassy’s Media Education Program and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at TSU Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.

The parties discussed perspectives of future cooperation in the sphere of journalism.

A new project on media education has been launched in Georgia under the aegis of the U.S. Embassy to Georgia. Media schools of universities accredited in Georgia have joined the project. The Media Development Program aims at improving and developing media environment in Georgia.

“The guests familiarized themselves with the peculiarities of teaching. They expressed satisfaction and noted that one of the most fruitful meetings was just held at the TSU Department of Journalism and Mass Communications,” Nino Chalaganidze, head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, noted.

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University has a longtime cooperation with the U.S. Embassy to Georgia. A Multimedia Center was opened at TSU in 2013 with the support of the U.S. Embassy.
