New Deputy Rector of TSU Takes Office
Rector of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Academician Vladimer Papava presented new Deputy Rector of TSU, Professor Darejan Tvaltvadze to academic staff and administration on November 26. Professor Tvaltvadze replaced TSU Professor, Academician Levan Aleksidze.
“I would like to say special thanks to Mr. Aleksidze for collaboration. He is one of the distinguished figures at the university. I have a 25-year long working relationship with him. By our joint decision, Mr. Aleksidze will become my adviser. His experience will be very useful for the university,” Rector Papava said.
Darejan Tvaltvadze graduated from the Faculty of Philology at TSU in 1980. She is Doctor of Philology; author of 1 monograph, 5 textbooks, up to 70 scientific papers; head of the Department of Old Georgian Language and Textological Studies. Darejan Tvaltvadze was elected Dean of the Faculty of Philology in 2010 and re-elected to her second term in 2014.
