TSU, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Giorgi Sharvashidze and Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Pericles Mitkas signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on May 7.

Vice Rector of TSU, Alexander Tsiskaridze also attended the event. He said that the University of Thessaloniki is one of the leading universities, which implements very interesting and important programs, including in engineering, humanities, as well as joint scientific and educational programs. I think that the today’s meeting laid the foundation for very good cooperation. We agreed on student exchanges and I think that it will be a step ahead for the Tbilisi State University,” Alexander Tsiskaridze said.

Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Pericles Mitkas said that under the Memorandum, TSU and the University of Thessaloniki will jointly work in the direction of research and education. “We are glad to work with one of the best universities in the region – Tbilisi State University. The University of Thessaloniki is largest in Greece; it is a research university, where we annually receive hundreds of students from various countries of the world through the Erasmus program. We will be glad to receive students from your university and sent our students to TSU.”  

Dimitrios Fotiadis of the Foreign Relations Department at the University of Thessaloniki and Dimitrios Karabalis, Greek Ambassador to Georgia, also attended the meeting.
