The Dissertation Council will examine dissertations submitted by the university faculties and make a decision on further procedures. The Dissertation Council is elected for a term of two years.

The Dissertation Council held its inaugural session on June 14 and elected TSU Associate Professor, Ketevan Khutsishvili as its Chairperson. Khutsishvili said that the Dissertation Council will promote the development of scientific activities at TSU “to further strengthen the standards.” “The Council will familiarize itself with dissertations to ascertain whether they meet standards. Special attention will be paid to the cases of plagiarism and other violations,” she noted.
