TSU, School of Public Health at Albany University Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and School of Public Health at Albany University (State University of New York) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on June 22.

Under the Memorandum, the parties commit themselves to cooperating in the spheres of public health research and learning, as well as promoting exchange of academic and educational resources.

Acting Rector of TSU, Alexander Tsiskaridze and Professors Jack DeHovitz and John Justino at Public Health School signed the Memorandum. “We are very satisfied because signing of this Memorandums opens up opportunities for implementing joint research and programs that is unique in Georgia’s reality,” Alexander Tsiskaridze said.

Jack DeHovitz of Public Health School said that the Memorandum would help control infectious diseases in Georgia and throughout the region. He expressed hope that number of trainings for transfer from a Masters to PhD program would increase for Georgian students.

Under the Memorandum, the parties will conduct joint research, lectures and discussions, exchange academic materials and publications, as well as students and graduates for research and learning purposes.
