TSU Awards Successful Students

On September 8, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University hosted a ceremony of awarding its graduates who successfully completed their BA and MA degree programs. Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze, faculty deans and professors congratulated bachelors and masters from seven faculties, among them Aleko Samadashvili, Bela Tsomaia, Mariam Oragvelidze, Gia Kutelia, Tamar Shavgulidze, Andranik Minasyan, Keto Gigineishvili, Mariam Magaldadze, Nato Lagidze, Sandro Tabatadze, Ekaterine Janiashvili, Tamar Katsadze, Irina Nozadze and Nino Narmania on their successful completion and handed over symbolic gifts to them. 
Rector Sharvashidze wished TSU graduates future success. “I am sure that our graduates will be successful during their whole life and their names will be voiced loudly; not only Tbilisi State University, but entire country will be proud of their achievements,” he said. 
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the solemn event was divided into two parts: the main part was held online in August. 
Over 22,000 students are studying at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. About 3,500 students graduated this year. 
The first cohort of TSU students graduated in 1922. TSU already has a total of 300,000 graduates.
5082 entrants were enrolled on about 240 educational programs at TSU during the 2020-2021 academic year (by 200 entrants more compared to the previous academic year). 10 foreign-language programs will be added to current 24 foreign-language programs in the near future.
