Memorandum of Cooperation with National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement

On August 9, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with five Georgian higher educational institutions, among them Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Caucasus University, New Vision University, Akaki Tsereteli State University and Gori State Teaching University. The Memorandum was signed by Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, Tamar Sanikidze, Rector of TSU, Giorgi Sharvashidze and the representatives of other four universities.

“The accreditation and authorization standards of higher educational institutions have been brought in line with European standards. So, from now on, the fulfilled work will be assessed jointly with European colleagues; recommendations will be offered specifically for the directions of law and medicine. The higher educational institutions will have an opportunity to get ready for a new season of accreditation and authorization more seriously,” Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, Tamar Sanikidze said.

“Along with the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, five universities are involved in this program. It will enable us to bring the education offered to our students in line with European standards. It is a very important path towards recognizing the education get by our graduates,” Rector Giorgi Sharvashidze said.

Under the Memorandum, international experts will provide a developmental assessment of BA, MA and PhD educational programs in law and promote the improvement of sectoral characteristics of these programs.
