Special Prize for Ensuring Accessibility of Public Information in 2015

The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) was awarded a Special Prize for Ensuring Accessibility of Public Information in 2015. The prize was handed over to Rector of the Tbilisi State University, Academician Vladimer Papava at a presentation of the report summarizing the freedom of information situation in Georgia during 2010-2015. The presentation was organized by the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) and Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF).  

The most transparent and closed public institutions were revealed during the presentation. The key trends and challenges to accessibility of public information during 2010-2015 were discussed within the framework of the project.

Along with other public institutions, the indicators of accessibility of information at the state universities were also revealed. According to the survey, the indicator of Tbilisi State University has significantly improved. In 2012-2013 accessibility of public information at TSU was 62.5%; in 2013-2014 – 89.2%; in 2014-2015 this indicator reached 100%.
