2016 Graduation Ceremony at Tbilisi State University

A solemn undergraduate graduation ceremony was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) on July 22. Acting Rector of TSU, Professor Darejan Tvaltvadze; Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Giorgi Shervashidze; Finance Minister, TSU Professor Nodar Khaduri; Tbilisi Mayor, TSU Professor Davit Narmania; members of the Academic Council, faculty deans, representatives of academic circles and invited guests attended the ceremony.

Acting Rector of TSU, Darejan Tvaltvadze congratulated students on graduation of the leading university in the Caucasus and wished them success:“Today a new stage begins in your life. You have acquired knowledge and experience at the university. The foundation of your future achievements has been laid at the university. Your advancement and victory is the advancement and victory of the university!”

“Everything begins today. The university has prepared you for future successes. Most of you will return to Alma Mater as masters or PhD students,” Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Giorgi Shervashidze addressed the graduates.

Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri also congratulated students on their graduation and wished them success: “I am sure that you will analyze the years spent at the university and outline future plans. Many of you will return to the university and continue your activities in the sphere of science. We will build a very beautiful country together.”

Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania said: “Graduation of the university is a very important step for future successes. There are very active young people at the university. You will continue your work and ultimately lead the country successfully.”

Ketevan Arakhamia, one of the successful TSU graduates, also congratulated students on their graduation: “The University is the unity of us – students and lecturers; I want to thank them for motivation. I wish you success. Together we are creating the first university in the Caucasus.

In 2016 up to 3000 BA students completed their studies. Over 200 accredited educational programs are implemented at seven faculties of TSU with over 20 000 students undergoing their studies there. Over 3300 students will be enrolled to the Tbilisi State University during the 2016-2017 academic year.

A concert by TSU Art band was held by the end of the event.
