Grant Competition for Students’ Innovative Projects

The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) hosted an information meeting with the representatives of the Education, Science and Technological Development Foundation for Tomorrow’s Success (TSF) on October 19.

The issue of grant competition for students’ innovative projects announced by TSF was discussed at the meeting.

“The Education, Science and Technological Development Foundation for Tomorrow’s Success was established quite recently. Our goal is to promote knowledge-based economic development in the country as well as introduction of high technologies; but only government initiatives are not enough for it. Just due to private initiatives, projects are financed and students motivated. The purpose of our team is to bring together business and academia. I am glad that one of the first activities is focused on student projects,” TSF Executive Director Irakli Noselidze said.

Students of Georgian and foreign higher and/or vocational educational institutions (also persons, who graduated from one of the above mentioned educational institution in 2015 and have relevant diplomas) are eligible to participate in the competition.

The aim of the competition is to increase student motivation to get involved in research commercialization; to assist talented young people in realizing their innovative ideas; to increase students’ aspirations to use their knowledge for practical innovations; to direct intellectual potential of talented and creative students towards the development of high technology entrepreneurship that will promote the improvement of business competitiveness and ultimately the establishment of knowledge-based economy in the country.
