EACEA Monitoring Group’s Preliminary Conclusion
The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency’s (EACEA) Monitoring Group visited Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) on October 21-22 to assess the implementation of the EU-funded Tempus and Erasmus Mundus projects. The group held meetings with TSU academic and administrative staff.
Klaus Haupt, Head of Unit for Tempus at the Education Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, sent a preliminary conclusion on the results of monitoring, in which he appreciates the implementation of Tempus and Erasmus Mundus programmes at TSU. These programmes have made a huge contribution to the university’s modernization, especially to professional development of academic staff, equipment of modern laboratory and student career development. Moreover, the Tbilisi State University has played a leading role in bringing higher education in Georgia in line with international standards. Klaus Haupt also thanks TSU for its warm welcome.
The Monitoring Group underlines the university’s contribution to organizing student exchange programs and free foreign language tests, as well as developing training modules on career education and project management.
The Tempus and Erasmus Mundus Joint Institutional Monitoring Group offers the university more EU-funded international programs to ensure that students, academic and administrative staff are actively involved in intensification of international activities.
