Solemn Reception for PhD Students

December 25, at 3pm, TSU Rector,
Academician Vladimer Papava will host a solemn reception dedicated to the success of PhD students in the competition announced by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will finance the studies for 60 PhD students from the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, as well as all necessary expenses for their doctoral research, internships abroad or visits and participation in conferences.
It was for the first time this year that the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation issued state grants for financial support of PhD students. The applications submitted during the competition were assessed by independent experts.
As a result, TSU is still leading since 60 out of 135 financed PhD students are from TSU – it is 44% of total financed applications. The total budget of winning projects amounts to GEL 902,197. 37 PhD students were financed from the Georgian Technical University (27%; total budget GEL 417,998); Ilia State University – 17 PhD students (13%; total budget GEL 280,292).
