No to Barbarisms Movement to Hold Event at TSU

The movement No to Barbarisms will hold the first stage closing event at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) at 1pm on April 19. In connection with the Georgian Language Day, the prizes introduced by the university will be awarded to one journalist, one public figure, one foreign Kartvelologist and one foreign diplomat accredited in Georgia for speaking good literary Georgian. A special commission consisting of the university professors and public figures will reveal the winners.

The TSU Lexicographic Center will present a Dictionary of Barbarisms, which will later be uploaded on the movement’s website and be available to all interested persons. An online version of Russian-language and English-language barbarisms is also under preparation and it will be posted on the website http://barbarizmebi.ge quite soon.  

The event will be organized by the TSU Lexicographic Center and the editorial board of newspaper Tbilisi University.
