International Day of Portuguese Language

In May the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) celebrates the International Day of Portuguese Language. Since Georgia obtained the status of Associate Observer of the CPLP in 2014, this year we are commemorated the date at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, with cultural activities organized by the TSU Camões - Portuguese Language Center, during the week 4-10 May.

On the 7th May the main event took place, at the TSU Event Hall, with a concert by Ensemble MEDs Daniela Tomaz and Didier François, together with Tbilisi State Conservatory Students, and the Band Chveneburebi; a conference by the President of the Institute for Ibero-Atlantic Culture, João Ventura, on Portuguese Poetry, and a performance by Magda Mendes Casa da Bôxa Project, singing fado.
