Political Science

Political science is an academic and research discipline dealing with political theory and practice and describing as well as analyzing political systems and behaviors. The research field of political science is rather broad and comprises the following: political theory and philosophy, comparative policy, national systems and cross national political analysis, political development, international relations, public administration, administrational behavior, public policy, etc. The bachelor’s program of political science is structured in a way that equips students with full understanding of political science in general as well as its sub-disciplines and provides students with necessary research skills.
Fields of Employment: Having undergone the bachelor program in political science, a graduate will be able to work as a political expert, media analyst, etc. A graduate will have necessary knowledge to work in the state agencies, self-government bodies or the offices of political parties and public organizations.

Journalism and Mass Communication

The aim of the programme is to prepare practicing journalists in line with modern professional standards, to provide students with relevant theoretical knowledge in journalism and mass communication and develop the skills necessary for future practice.
Furthermore, students will be able to acquire and check information, to search for resources and work on the documentation. Graduates will be fully aware of the journalist’s role and importance in the society as well as the problems of social responsibility of the media.
Fields of employment: Graduates will be able to get employment in any type of media outlets as well as to use the acquired knowledge in other relevant fields.

International Relations

Upon completion of the programme, graduates will have in-depth knowledge of the theories of international relations and research methods. Furthermore, graduates will be able to raise an issue, to undertake complex studies on the issue and to solve it, as well as to find necessary resources, to analyze and provide synthesis of the information and have a critical approach to the subject. Undergraduate students will have the opportunity to participate in various research projects as researchers undertaking their parts of research with the observance of the existing ethical and professional standards. Furthermore, students will be able to run their own research projects under the supervision of a research advisor.
Field of Employment: Graduates of international relations will have sufficient knowledge and experience to work on assistant positions in public services. Particularly, graduates can work at those institutions that deal with the development and implementation of foreign and security policies. Graduates will also be able to work at scientific-research institutions, international organizations and media outlets.  

Human Geography

Having undergone bachelor’s programme, students will acquire the skills necessary to comprehend main concepts of human geography, ongoing social, economic, and political processes in the field of geography, and general tendencies of public development and globalization. Furthermore, the program will equip graduates with the following skills:
•    Identifying and verifying territorial/regional differences
•    Analyzing social-economic and political territorial systems
•    Understanding and analyzing the processes of public development
•    Analyzing the principles of human geography monitoring
•    Using traditional and modern methods of human geography research
•    Acquiring, analyzing and filing information on geography
•    Using the principles of geo-information technologies
•    Communicating verbally and in writing  
Fields of Employment: Possible fields of employment for the graduates in human geography can be government agencies (including diplomatic services); educational, planning, environmental and tourism institutions; non-governmental sector and commercial companies.


Social Work

Having undergone bachelor’s programme in social work, graduates will have sound knowledge of the principles of social work, social and psychological principles of human and group behavior, and relevant legislation.
Graduates will be able to:
•    Master the principles of social work;
•    Put theoretical knowledge into everyday practice of a social worker;
•    Comprehend social values and their influence on practical activities;
•    Apply social worker’s code of ethics;  
•    Identify and put in practice the social-psychological principles of human and group behavior, as well as the dynamics of human relations;
•    Use relevant legislation;
•    Assess own performance and effectiveness and integrate the research results into practice

Fields of Employment: Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be able to work at private and state social services, penitentiary and educational systems. 

Sociology 

Bachelor’s programme in sociology ensures obtaining knowledge of all the necessary social theories and research methodologies. In addition, the program strives to develop students’ practical skills for conducting thorough research. Upon completion of the program, graduates of the sociology course will acquire basic knowledge of classical and contemporary sociological theories.

Fields of Employment: Graduates will be able to work in all those state or non-governmental institutions, which are in need of a sociologist of general qualification. It should be noted that general qualification in sociology can be necessary for organizations of any field.
